Topshow at Eumundi Markets
8th Jul 2016
Topshow has a long history at the Eumundi Market. My mother and sister were living in Cooroy in the late 1980s when they started experimenting the use of raffia to make women's hats. They began selling these hats in 1990 at the Eumundi Market on Saturdays as a side hobby.
Shortly after moving from Melbourne with my three children to join my family in Cooroy in 1992, I began helping make and sell the hats.
After a few years, I started experimenting with cotton, which shortly led to the creation of Topshow. I officially started making and selling cotton hats at the market by 1994 with my business partner Virgil and the help of my mother and sister Lee.
One of the first hats Topshow designed was the Noosa Hat and remains the most popular hat that we sell.
